Hyundai IONIQ 6 N: Everything You Need to Know

Following the success of the IONIQ 5 N, Hyundai’s performance division is back – this time with a sleeker, more powerful take on its electric saloon.

Revealed at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the IONIQ 6 N marks another big step in Hyundai’s move towards high-performance electric vehicles. Here's what you need to know.

What does the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N look like?

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 N has been extensively reworked, with new bumpers, slimmer headlights, and a lower, more sculpted front end. It sits lower and wider than the standard model, with motorsport-inspired touches like flared arches and a prominent rear wing giving it a more purposeful, track-ready look.

How fast is the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N?

Under the skin, the IONIQ 6 N uses a dual-motor setup producing up to 641bhp with N Grin Boost enabled. That’s enough for 0–62mph in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 162mph.

There’s more to it than raw power, though. Hyundai has made significant changes to the suspension, chassis, and electronics to help it perform on the track as well as on the road. Features like adaptive dampers, an electronic limited-slip diff, and N Torque Distribution all help keep it composed through corners.

How much range does the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N have?

The IONIQ 6 N uses the same 84kWh battery as the IONIQ 5 N, offering up to 291 miles of range (WLTP). Thanks to 800V charging tech, it can go from 10–80% in about 18 minutes using a 350kW charger.

As with any high-performance EV, range will drop quickly if you’re pushing it hard – but for most drivers, it’s more than enough for everyday use.

What does the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N’s interior look like?

Inside, the IONIQ 6 N feels much more focused than the regular version. There are sports bucket seats, grippy materials like Alcantara, and a redesigned centre console for better support during spirited driving.

You also get Hyundai’s N e-Shift system, which mimics gear changes, and N Active Sound+, which plays simulated engine sounds through the speakers. There are three sound profiles to choose from, depending on your mood.

Other features include N Track Manager for recording lap data and ambient lighting that flashes during simulated shifts, adding to the sense of drama behind the wheel.

Is the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N practical?

The IONIQ 6 N retains much of the practicality of the standard car. The 401-litre boot remains, although additional chassis bracing does limit flexibility slightly. There’s also a small front storage area and generous rear legroom, making it usable day to day.

How much will the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N cost?

 UK pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it’s expected to start from around £65,000. That puts it in line with rivals like the Tesla Model 3 Performance and BMW i4 M50.
