The first generation model, which launched in 2020, contained a relatively small 47kWh battery that could power the eSprinter for just under 100 miles according to WLTP.
Mercedes’ eSprinter refresh will see the van available in a choice of three different batteries with usable capacities of 56kWh, 81kWh and 113kWh. Mercedes claims that in its longest-range configuration, the eSprinter can travel up to 311 miles on just one charge when city driving.
Rapid DC charging will be possible at up to 115kw too, meaning drivers can charge up their van from 10 to 80% in just under half an hour on the 56kWh battery derivative. This puts the eSprinter in line with the new Ford e-Transit.
All second-generation eSprinter trims can produce 400Nm of torque in addition to either a 134bhp or 201bhp output. These vans are rear-wheel-drive and available in two body styles and lengths. The largest box van has a maximum gross vehicle weight of 4,250kg and a 14 cubic metre loading capacity.
The first variants to arrive in the UK will likely be the long-range 113kWh battery variants with the L3 body styling.
