Performance & batteries

There are two MG Cyberster models to choose from. The entry-level Trophy variant has one rear-mounted electric motor delivering 335hp for a 5-second 0-62mph. Equipped with a 77kWh battery, the Trophy can travel 316 miles on a single charge.

For even more thrills, the sporty GT variant packs a punch with its duel-motor all-wheel-drive set-up, boasting 496hp and a 3.2-second 0-62mph – making it MG’s most powerful model ever.

The GT carries the same 77kWh battery for a 276-mile range. Both variants take 38 minutes to charge from 10-80% using a 150kW DC charger. There are also three regenerative braking modes.

Exterior

The MG Cyberster’s design takes inspiration from the company’s rich sports car heritage. It combines classic MG styling with bold contemporary flair.

At the front, there’s a long sloping bonnet with sleek LED headlights. The Cyberster sits low with short overhangs and 19 or 20-inch alloy wheels. MG has confirmed the production model will feature extravagant scissor doors.

Blacked-out bodywork is strategically placed around the top edges of the EV, to make the car seem slimmer than it actually is, especially above the rear wheel arches.

At the back, arrow-shaped lights, reference the Union Flag design. Above, is a full-width LED light bar and an electrically powered fabric roof that can open or shut in just 15 seconds.

The Cyberster offers five colour choices: New English White, Camden Grey, Cosmic Silver, Dynamic Red and Inca Yellow.

Interior

The interior of the Cyberster is very driver-focussed. A wraparound display behind the steering wheel comprises two 7-inch screens and a central 10.25-inch screen. There’s also a fourth screen on the centre console for climate controls.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity comes as standard as well as a Bose sound system, a 360-degree parking camera, ambient lighting and twin USB ports.

Leather-style seats are available in either grey with white accents or black with red. Despite a modest 249-litre boot space, the Cyberster compensates with central armrest storage and sunglasses storage.

Release date & pricing

MG has made the Cyberster available to order now with deliveries expected to start in August. Trophy pricing starts from £54,995 and the GT starts from £59,995.
