The new hybrid SUV is a Civic-based crossover that will look to challenge popular vehicles such as the Peugeot 3008, Skoda Karoq and Volkswagen T-Roc.
Honda announced the new hybrid last week alongside news of a refreshed CR-V model and a new all-electric e:Ny1 model. The latest CR-V has gained plug-in tech and has increased in size, meaning the ZR-V effectively takes its place within Honda's lineup.
The ZR-V is already on sale in the US but is named the HR-V. The model has been designed to attract younger buyers by including a bit of everything. The new hybrid manages a stylish and sporty design while providing practicality and agility.
Honda says the ZR-V combines a 2.0-litre 4cyl engine with two electric motors for ‘punchy, responsive acceleration’.
Performance details haven’t been revealed yet but you can expect the ZR-V to offer around 181bhp and 232 lb-ft of torque. CO2 emissions will start around 130g/km and WLTP testing indicates 49mpg.
The inside has a 90-inch touchscreen as well as USB-A and USB-C sockets in the centre console. A wireless smartphone charging plate is also provided in the front.
The hybrid Honda ZR-V is estimated to arrive in the autumn of this year. There’s no word on pricing yet, although it will probably fall somewhere between £35,000 – £40,000.
