Juke Hybrid
The Juke's new petrol-electric powertrain will reduce fuel consumption by 40% and the Japanese carmaker say that 80% of urban trips can be carried out on electric power alone.
A dedicated EV mode means that the driver can switch the Juke to operate as an electric-only vehicle. This will be useful when passing through residential areas, schools and in traffic jams.
Eco, Normal and Sport modes are on offer too which can alter the throttle, climate control and steering weight accordingly to suit your needs.
The hybrid Juke’s internal combustion engine produces 94bhp and 148Nm of torque and is paired with an electric motor that offers a maximum of 48bhp and 205Nm of torque. This means that the newly updated crossover produces around 25% more power than the previous petrol model.
A 1.2kWh battery is what feeds the electric motor. A feature of the new Juke is that it will always start up in electric drive mode. Adjustable regenerative braking is available too with an e-Pedal option being the most efficient.
In order to be as efficient as possible, the exterior receives subtle changes to improve aerodynamics. Most notably, the grille has been reshaped with a smaller mesh opening.
Inside the cabin, a seven-inch screen takes centre stage and a dial highlights power usage and regenerative charging.
Squeezing a battery into the crossover has meant cutting back on boot space though. The hybrid Juke has around 68 litres less space than the boot of the petrol-only version.
Qashqai Update
The Qashqai will be receiving a bolstered equipment list and some slight styling changes as it enters its third generation.
A 12.3-inch infotainment screen will now appear on the N-Connecta trim upwards and LED front fog lights are now a standard option on the Tekna+ trim levels.
The Nissan Connect Service has been updated too. A digital owner's manual, Nissan's i-Key identification, voice control, Alexa personal assistant and parking information are all included.
A new dark grey bumper features on the rear alongside new 20-inch wheels that are accommodated due to an extended wheelbase.
Just like the newly electrified Juke, the Qashqai looks set for hybrid power too which should arrive in the coming months.
