What does the Range Rover Electric look like?

At first glance, the Range Rover Electric maintains the elegant design of the fifth-generation Range Rover, featuring minimalist surfacing, seamless window lines, a floating roof, and a split tailgate. The main visual differences include the absence of tailpipes, unique badging, and a more aerodynamically efficient grille to enhance airflow for the electric drivetrain.

Built on the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) platform, which supports petrol, hybrid, and electric powertrains, there's no compromise on space, comfort, or the commanding driving position that Range Rover drivers expect.

What is the range of the Range Rover Electric?

It's anticipated that the Range Rover Electric will be able to go 300 miles on a single charge, aligning with competitors like the BMW iX and Mercedes EQS SUV. Though expect the official WLTP figures to be slightly higher.

An advanced 800-volt system will allow the Range Rover Electric to charge quickly, with 10 to 80% top-ups expected to take around half an hour when using high-speed DC chargers.

How quick is the Range Rover Electric?

Performance figures remain under wraps, but Land Rover has indicated that the Range Rover Electric will offer twin electric motors delivering around 542bhp and all-wheel drive. With instant torque and no gearshifts, it's expected to accelerate from 0–62mph in under 5 seconds, rivalling the performance of the V8 petrol model.

Despite its size, the EV will still feel responsive and refined, with power delivery tuned for smooth acceleration and a hushed cabin experience.

Can the Range Rover Electric still go off-road?

Absolutely. Range Rover has made a point of saying this is the most refined and capable Range Rover yet. The electric version will still come equipped with all the off-road tech you’d expect, like Terrain Response, air suspension, and all-wheel drive, as well as the added benefit of electric torque vectoring.

The EV's powertrain offers significant benefits for off-roading, including instant torque delivery and a low centre of gravity, enabling it to handle challenging terrains with ease. However, it's worth noting that charging infrastructure in remote off-road areas can be limited, so adventurous trips may require additional planning.

When is the Range Rover Electric coming out?

Land Rover has confirmed that customer deliveries will commence in late 2025, with production taking place at the company's Solihull facility in the West Midlands. The vehicle is undergoing rigorous testing, including over 45,000 miles in Arctic conditions and hot-weather trials in Dubai, to ensure durability and performance across extreme environments.

How much is the Range Rover Electric in the UK?

While UK pricing hasn't been officially announced, estimates suggest that the Range Rover Electric will cost at least £130,000, depending on the specification. As a flagship vehicle, it's expected to be positioned above the plug-in hybrid models, with higher-end versions potentially exceeding £150,000.
