As a result the powertrain for the Seat Mii Electric is identical to the one that is featured in the Skoda Citigo, with an 82bhp electric motor that can reach 31mph from a standstill in just 3.9 seconds. Arguably more importantly however is the range which has been quoted at by Seat at just over 160 miles from a single charge. Charge times are also said to impress with an 80% charge taking just an hour via a fast charger, or a full charge in four hours from a conventional outlet.
The exterior of the Seat Mii remains largely unchanged, with the same design features including a surprisingly unchanged grille design. There are some differences however, for example a brand new design for 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior features more changes with a new dashboard design, a leather steering wheel and an ambient lighting system. Standard equipment includes cruise control, parking sensors, LED running lights, lane assist and traffic sign recognition.
Seat President Luca de Meo was quoted saying that “The market is changing, and electrification is expanding at an unprecedented rate. In Europe, the electric vehicle market grew by 46% in the first 4 months of the year, moving forward we expect electrified vehicles to play an important role within our range. The Mii electric is the start of that journey, and at the same time brings to the market an affordable electric car.”
After the reveal today in Oslo, Seat have confirmed that the Mii Electric will begin production in Bratislava (Slovakia) towards the end of 2019, with the Mii being available to lease “from the very end of the year”. Preorders for the Mii will be available from September.
