That balance is what impressed me most. This isn’t just a car built for power – it’s one you can live with every day, whether you’re covering long stretches of motorway or taking on twisty back roads.
Interior comfort and technology
Step inside, and the Tesla Model 3 Performance feels more like a calming retreat than a car. Ventilated seats, enhanced insulation, and elegant trims create a space that’s modern, premium, and genuinely relaxing. Tesla has refined its minimalist approach, making the cabin calmer and more inviting than ever.
Almost everything is controlled through the central 15.4-inch touchscreen. It’s quick and responsive, but it does take a little time to get used to. The clean, digital setup keeps the interior futuristic, though some drivers may miss the simplicity of physical stalks for indicators and wipers at first.
The tech on offer is impressive. From built-in apps like Spotify and Netflix to over-the-air software updates that continually add new features, the Model 3 feels as much like a smart device as it does a car.
One of my personal highlights is the 17-speaker audio system. Whether it’s a podcast on the commute or a playlist on a solo road trip, the sound fills the cabin with concert-like clarity.
Passengers are also well catered for, with a rear touchscreen that allows friends or family to adjust climate and entertainment on their own, leaving me free to focus on the road.

Range anxiety fades quickly thanks to Tesla’s intelligent navigation, which automatically builds in charging stops and makes route planning effortless.
The real peace of mind, though, comes from Tesla’s Supercharger network. With ultra-fast, reliable chargers positioned almost everywhere I travel, topping up is quick and stress-free. It means I can take on long trips with total confidence.
And for drivers who prioritise maximum range over outright speed, the Long Range RWD version offers an incredible 436 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
Practicality and storage space
For a performance saloon, the Tesla Model 3 is impressively versatile. With 682 litres of storage spread between the rear boot and a useful front boot (“frunk”), it has no trouble handling shopping, luggage, or work gear.
The rear seats fold flat to create extra space for larger items, while the frunk is ideal for storing charging cables or smaller bags.
The only drawback is the saloon-style boot opening, which is narrower than a hatchback or SUV and can make loading bulky items a little trickier. For everyday tasks, though, it’s more than up to the job.
