Toyota has unveiled the C-HR+, an all-electric SUV that sits between the bZ4X and the upcoming Urban Cruiser in the brand’s growing EV range.

While it shares its name with the smaller C-HR hybrid, the C-HR+ is a completely standalone model with no shared components, marking a significant step in Toyota’s electrification strategy.

Exterior & design

The Toyota C-HR+ boasts a bold, forward-thinking exterior that stays true to the sharp, edgy styling of the current C-HR lineup.

The EV features a sculpted body and a sleek coupe-style roofline, giving it a dynamic and sporty profile. Its sloping rear window and short overhangs enhance its compact yet aggressive stance.

At the front, Toyota’s latest “Hammerhead” design language is on display, with slim, C-shaped LED headlights creating a striking look.

At the rear, sharply angled taillights stretch across the car's width, connected by a distinctive full-length LED light bar. A high-set rear bumper and sculpted tailgate further emphasise its bold, aerodynamic design.

Interior & tech

Inside, the Toyota C-HR+ is equipped with a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for effortless connectivity. Dual wireless charging pads add convenience, keeping the cabin free from cable clutter.

Soft ambient lighting enhances the cabin’s upscale feel, while the panoramic roof brings in natural light, creating a spacious and airy environment.

Built on Toyota’s dedicated e-TNGA platform, the C-HR+ is 150mm longer than the C-HR hybrid. Despite its sleek, coupe-like profile, it still provides 416 litres of cargo space - slightly less than some rivals but practical for everyday use.

Range & charging

The Toyota C-HR+ delivers an impressive range, making it a practical option for both city driving and long-distance travel. Customers can choose between a 58kWh or 77kWh battery, with the larger option offering up to 373 miles on a single charge.

Charging is efficient and convenient, with DC fast charging up to 150kW, allowing a 20% to 80% recharge in around 30 minutes. The vehicle comes standard with an 11kW onboard charger, with a 22kW option available for faster home charging.

To optimise charging speed, the C-HR+ includes battery pre-conditioning, which can be activated manually or automatically.

Performance

The Toyota C-HR+ offers a well-balanced blend of power and efficiency. The 58kWh model delivers 165bhp with front-wheel drive, while the 77kWh version is available with 221bhp front-wheel drive or 338bhp all-wheel drive, capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 5.2 seconds.

Toyota’s e-TNGA platform and an advanced suspension system ensure a refined driving experience with precise handling, minimal road noise, and a comfortable ride.
