XPENG L03: What We Know So Far

XPENG has officially unveiled the all-new L03, giving us our first look at the brand's latest SUV coupe ahead of its expected launch in 2027.

Positioned below the XPENG G6, the L03 promises a blend of sporty styling, intelligent technology and everyday practicality. Buyers will be able to choose between a fully electric model and a new range-extender version.

Here's everything we know so far.

Striking SUV coupe styling

The XPENG L03 adopts a sleek fastback silhouette that gives it a noticeably sportier appearance than a traditional SUV.

Styled under the direction of former Ferrari design chief JuanMa López, the L03 features a wide stance, frameless doors and clean body lines designed to maximise aerodynamic efficiency. XPENG claims a drag coefficient of just 0.228, helping improve both efficiency and refinement.

Although it sits beneath the G6 in the range, the L03 still has a premium feel and should measure around 4.65 metres long, making it similar in size to models such as the Skoda Enyaq Coupe.

Electric and range-extender powertrains

Unlike most rivals, the XPENG L03 will be available with two different electrified powertrains.

Customers will be able to choose a fully electric version or the new L03 Power X, which uses a petrol engine purely as a generator to recharge the battery rather than drive the wheels directly. This range-extender setup is designed to reduce charging stops while retaining the smooth driving experience of an electric vehicle.

The electric model is expected to offer battery options of around 58kWh and 71kWh, delivering a WLTP range of between 276 and 323 miles. The range-extender version should achieve a combined driving range of more than 600 miles, although these figures have not yet been confirmed for UK models.

Interior and technology

Inside, the L03 follows XPENG's familiar minimalist design philosophy.

A large 15.6-inch central touchscreen sits at the centre of the dashboard, complemented by a head-up display, ambient lighting and climate control. XPENG also says the cabin offers 37 storage compartments, lounge-style seating and a generous luggage area.

Practicality hasn't been overlooked either, with the L03 capable of towing up to 1,500kg.

One of the biggest talking points is the introduction of XOS 6, XPENG's latest infotainment software. It features an upgraded AI voice assistant capable of understanding more natural conversations and contextual requests, with additional functionality planned through over-the-air software updates.

Advanced driver assistance

The L03 will also introduce XPENG's latest Next Generation Pilot (NGP) driver assistance technology.

Designed to interpret complex road conditions and support drivers in a wider variety of situations, the system will make use of XPENG's latest AI hardware alongside integrated Google Maps data.

XPENG has confirmed that Google Maps will be integrated directly into the vehicle's navigation system for international markets, supporting both navigation and its advanced driver assistance features.

Expected price and release date

The XPENG L03 is expected to arrive in the UK during 2027, joining the G6 and X9 as part of the brand's expanding model line-up.

Official UK pricing has not yet been announced, although industry expectations suggest the L03 could start from around £35,000, depending on specification.

More technical details, including battery sizes, performance figures and final equipment levels, will be announced closer to launch.
