The New Ariya Nismo brings increased power, fresh styling, an updated interior and a range of chassis enhancements to Nissan’s fully electric family SUV.
Performance & batteries
Based on the existing top-spec e-4orce Ariya, Nissan’s racing and tuning division, Nismo, has fine-tuned the EV's twin electric motors to deliver 429bhp and 600Nm of torque. This marks a 10% increase in power over the standard model.
Nissan has confirmed two specifications for the Ariya Nismo – the B6 and B9. The B6 has a 66kWh battery pack with 329bhp, while the B9 boasts 429bhp and employs a larger 91kWh battery, surpassing the capacity of the current largest battery Ariya by 4kWh.
A special Nismo driving mode will also be available to drivers. This mode sharpens the car's responsiveness and produces a unique sound reminiscent of Nissan's electric Formula E racing cars.

Exterior
The exterior enhancements include new splitters, twin vortex generators, side skirts, and a rear spoiler. Not only do these additions distinguish the Ariya Nismo as a sportier option, but they also contribute to increased downforce, enhancing road grip.
The B9 spec sits 5-10mm closer to the road than the B6 but carries an additional weight of 200kg. The vehicle is equipped with large 20-inch wheels and on the inside there’s black, red and suede trim alongside heavily bolstered Nismo-branded sports seats.

Release date
In Japan, the Ariya Nismo will arrive this spring. However, the Japanese carmaker is yet to confirm whether the performance SUV will arrive in Europe next.
The Nissan Ariya wasn't the only EV to get a performance upgrade at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon. Hyundai revealed a supercharged version of the already enhanced Hyundai IONIQ 5 N, read more here.
